Chelsea keen on Sergio Ramos

Well it must be the most ridiculous transfer rumour i have heard so far this season. It is that Chelsea are ready pay £55m for Read Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. Not that Ramos is bad or that Chelsea can’t afford him, but since its such a ridiculous transfer fee for a right back. This is the 5th big name signing that we are linked this season following Messi, Kaka, Berbatov, Ronaldinho. I am sure that none of them are going to come except Kaka, in which there is some possibility.

This actually seems like a huge hoax due to various reasons. One, Ramos has 5 years left in his contract after signing it only recently. Two, Ramos has Real Madrid in his heart, which he has stated publicly many times. Three, Bernd Schuster, the Read Madrid coach sees him as integral part of his team and would never let him go.

He is certainly not worth £55m, but if he comes at a reasonable price then it would be a good buy because right back has been a problematic area for us, with Midfielder Micheal Essien being asked to play there because Paulo Ferreira and Juliano Belletti are poor.

  1. I envy you and your club owner, it looks like money is nothing there while at Newcastle, Keegan seems have to struggle with less transfer fund available this summer. Oh dear…
