Eden Hazard was conspicuous absence from the Chelsea training ground, as the players took to training ahead of the Champions League semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night. The match will be at the Vicente Calderon will be followed by the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
Hazard has missed the last few matches for Chelsea, but assistant manager Steve Holland said that there is a possibility of the Belgian wizard featuring against Atletico. It seems that he has not made it, as Jose Mourinho is unlikely to risk the player (who has not been involved for the last few matches) in such a big encounter.
Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Sunderland on Saturday has effectively ruled us out of the Premier League title. Hence, it is likely that focus will fully shift towards the Champions League. Chelsea, however, need to overcome a very poor away form to get a positive result in the away match. Even a score draw would be a great result against the Spanish la Liga leaders.
