Thomas Tuchel reveals his reason for deploying Pulisic in a strange role

Pulisic at the wing-back position for their Sunday’s pre-season friendly match against Arsenal, he admitted that it was the best time to experiment with the several players that are yet to return to the team.

The American star, Pulisic, started off the game in the right wing-back role with Callum Hudson-Odoi playing on the left side as the Blues went on to secure a 2-1 victory with goals from Tammy Abraham and Kai Havertz, with best American online casino placing some odds on the game.

The Stamford Bridge outfit had to do without players like Cesar Azplicueta, Reece James and Marcos Alonso for the friendly game, which gave the German coach a chance to try out something different with his two attackers.

Speaking to the media, Tuchel: “He played there with me at Dortmund and we played many times like this with Callum. Marcos wasn’t able to play today so we put Callum on the left side, which I wanted to see for a long time. Callum can maybe be more dangerous from this position coming inside which he loves, and which he did today. So you know our situation.

“We have Azpi and Reece for this position [right wing-back] but Azpi only started two days ago and Reece hasn’t even started yet. So we need solutions because we start on the 11th against Villarreal and on the 14th is the season. We can’t try things then so now is the time to see.

“It was the possibility to give him some minutes and from here we go on.”

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic has mostly been deployed as a left midfielder and on some occasions, the player would be deployed on the right midfielder or the centre.

Ever since he joined the Blues, the American attacker has bagged 17 goals and 14 assists in 77 appearances for the club. He played a pivotal role in helping Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League last season, which was covered with some odds from best casino games at the time.

Pulisic admitted that his biggest objective for the upcoming season was to remain fit and healthy after struggling on the sidelines several times last campaign.

The American attacker opened up regarding his struggles with mental health, and he gave some credits to his therapist and his teammates for helping him go past his difficult moments. Chelsea fans will be hoping to see Pulisic return to the first team in their first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace on August 14th.
