While the World Cup may have been the talk of the town lately, the fixtures for the Barclays Premier League 2010/11 season will certainly put the spotlight back into the domestic league. The Premier League Champions start the defence of the title by taking on West Brom at home. It will be a return for former Chelsea player, Roberto Di Matteo, now the manager of West Brom. Chelsea take on the one of the big four not until October when Chelsea take on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea end the campaign away from home at Everton.
The start could not have been any easier with the 5 opening fixtures against teams either
promoted or which finished in the bottom half of the table last season with the exception of stoke. The key fixtures though come during the Christmas period when Chelsea face the trio of Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal back to back. With Chelsea regularly losing points over the Christmas period over the last few years, a change of luck this time around would be welcome.
