Chelsea do not travel to America for the usual pre-season tour this season. It is a news, which will sound disappointing for American Chelsea fans, but it is mainly due to the lack of time following the World Cup. There is only a month or so before the season kicks off again with the Community Shield after the players return from their holidays after
the World Cup.
So far the club has announced four friendly games. Here is the list of the pre-season friendly games announced so far. Most of the players who played in the World Cup will not be taking a part in these matches.
- Crystal Palace, 17th July 2010, Selhurst Park
- Ajax, 23th July 2010, Amsterdam ArenA
- Hamburg, 4th August 2010, HSH Nordbank Arena
- Eintracht Frankfurt, 11th August 2010, Commerzbank-Arena
The Community Shield against Manchester United will be on the 8th August and it is back to the Premier League season on 14th August against West Bromwich Albion.
