Just when you thought that Chelsea fans cannot stop celebrating enough, midfielder Frank Lampard has signed a new contract with Chelsea. The 34-year-old was out of contract at the end of the season, but he is going to be at Stamford Bridge for at least one more season.

Chelsea’s record goal scorer is among the top three for the most number of appearances, which stands at 607, made for Chelsea. He is also the record goal scorer with 203 goals to his name, which is one more than striker Bobby Tambling.
“I want to thank Mr Abramovich for everything he’s done in making the dream a reality. I love this club, the staff, the players and especially the supporters, who have treated me fantastically since the day I arrived,” said Lampard.
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay later said that the club had been in discussions with Lampard for more than a year, but he is happy that they have been able to reach an agreement.

“The thought of helping the club to more success in the forthcoming years is all I ever wanted. I couldn’t be happier,” said Lampard.
Since signing for Chelsea in 2001, Lampard has won all major honours with the club. This includes a Champions League, three Premier League titles, one Europa League, four FA cups, and two League Cups.
Lampard will probably have an even bigger role within the team next season due to the several transfer rumours surrounding captain John Terry.
