After being the club’s Player of the year in consecutive seasons, Mata’s future with Chelsea was cast into doubt this summer.
Juan Mata transfer rumours were extremely peculiar because no club publicly shown their interest in the player. For most of the time, it seemed like it was Chelsea who were trying to push the player out of the door.
This seemed absurd, as he has been central to our success in the last two years.
There was even talk of Jose Mourinho using Mata as a makeweight in attempts to get Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. Mourinho quashed any speculation by only recently confirming that Mata remains central to his plans.
“Of course he fits into my plans. I have my idea about him, about where he produces better and where he has more difficulty,” said Mourinho.
After speaking with the manager, the Spaniard has insisted that he will not leave Stamford Bridge. With the Promotion Code for Betfair Football bettors will also be rewarded next season
“It’s always very good to hear you are important to the club. Everyone wants to feel they are important,” said Mata.
Furthermore, Juan Mata is sure that staying with the same team and building up a great community is one of the key factors to improve the clubs performance.
“When you are playing more and more with your team-mates, you get more of a connection,” he added.
In fact, the 25-year old player is excited to train with Jose Mourinho next season and mentioned: “Jose did a great job here a few years ago and I think we can do it again.”
Mata managed to score 12 goals and 17 assists in the league last season. Even though Mourinho has hinted that he may play in the right wing, it is fair to expect great things from the 25-year-old.
