Chelsea have officially confirmed that Victor Moses has moved to Liverpool on a season long loan deal. The 22-year-old was signed from Wigan for £9 million. Chelsea will benefit from a loan fee of £1 million to £1.5 million depending on which paper you read. Victor Moses earns around £50,000 per week in wages alone, and one can expect Liverpool to compensate this fee as well. This news is not surprising as he was spotted at Anfield on Sunday watching the Liverpool vs Manchester United match.
An official statement read:
“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Victor Moses will spend this season on loan at Liverpool.”
West Brom and Everton were initially interested in his services. Both moves would have made much more sense because he isn’t going to get a lot of game time at Liverpool. Since Liverpool are not in the Europa League, there may not be sufficient number of matches for Moses to be involved. Moses is such an exciting player and it is a shame to see him leave.
He has made 43 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions and has scored 10 goals.
His move is unlikely to be the end of transfer activity at Chelsea. Demba Ba is linked with a move to Arsenal, Newcastle United, and West Brom. Ryan Bertrand has also been linked with a move to Everton.
as a chelsea fan may i say i’m not happy about chelsea strengthening a rival team with a good player whilst they sit pretty on top of the league, very foolish.
