FC Basel completed a double over Chelsea after condemning the 2012 champions to a 1-0 defeat on Tuesday night. Salah scored the only goal of the game three minutes from time to improve their chances of qualification. The match was easily one of the worst Chelsea have played in recent times. They had just two shots on goal of which none was on target.
It was far cry from the efficient performance against West Ham on Saturday. The blues, though, progress to the last 16 stage due to Schalke’s draw against Steaua Bucharest. A win against the Romanians in the final group match will help us top the group.
