Chelsea recovered from a ‘lazy’ first half to produce a dazzling array of attacking skills that put us on the way to a 2-0 win over Leicester City. Last season’s Championship winners proved much more resilient than Burnley last week, but Chelsea’s quality came through in the second half.
Diego Costa, making his debut at Stamford Bridge, scored the opening goal in the 71st minute to continue his good form. Eden Hazard, who had been disappointing against Burnley, came alive in the second half and scored a brilliant solo goal, albeit with a slight deflection.
The victory puts Chelsea on top after two matches and it bodes well ahead of a difficult run-in that includes matches against Everton, Manchester City, and Arsenal in the coming weeks.
