Olivier Giroud talks about a potential reunion with Hakim Ziyech at San Siro

In the wake of AC Milan being linked to many players across Europe, their new signing Olivier Giroud strengthened the club’s link to Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech after admitting that he would love a reunion at the San Siro Stadium.

The French striker arrived at the Italian club last month on a two-year deal, putting an end to his three-year spell at Chelsea. In his last campaign with the Blues, the Frenchman played with Ziyech, who arrived at the Stamford Bridge from Dutch club Ajax in 2020 summer transfer window for a fee reported to be €40 million, and the duo played a pivotal role in helping the Blues secure a Champions League trophy, with best sa online casino placing several odds on the competition.

Having signed Giroud, the Rossoneri have now been reported to have placed Ziyech as their top transfer target for the summer, as they hope to fill the void in the team after parting ways with Hakan Calhanoglu, who left for Serie A rivals Inter Milan.

The Serie A giants have, so far, signed two players from the West London club this summer, Giroud and Fikayo Tomori, with the French striker hoping the reunite with Ziyech at the San Siro Stadium for the upcoming season.

The 2018 World Cup winner went as far as praising the Morocco international’s abilities after watching him deliver four goals and three assists in his first season in England.

Speaking to the media, Giroud said: “Ziyech is a great player. We have had a great connection even though we have played few games together.

“He has a top left foot, has experience and he is very good technically. It would be nice to play with him again.”

The 28-year-old attacker has four years remaining on his contract with the 2020/21 Champions League winners, and fans will be expecting the player to get ready for their UEFA Super Cup game against Villarreal, who claimed the Europa League title, on August 11 and will be held at Windsor Park, Northern Ireland.

Following that game will be Chelsea opening Premier League game against Crystal Palace three days later.

After their pre-season game against Bournemouth, the Morocco international said to the media via jackpotjill.com: “I’m feeling great, sharp. I think for everybody, the days off that we’ve had have been good. Right now we can show our best, we are all hungry and sharp.

“The biggest thing is getting back the rhythm again, getting back to being fit again, to get the minutes in the leg. That’s the most important thing, to get ready for the real work.

“It’s always nice for the confidence but it’s not the biggest thing in the first place.”
