French defender Kurt Zouma has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, and West Ham United was reported to be one of many admirers, but Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel dropped a hint that there could be a place for the defender in the coming season.
The West London giants already have fierce competition at the centre-back and yet they continue to seek out Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who they see as a top target this summer and online casino united states has odds placed all over the transfer window.
It will only take some consideration before Zouma could be considered as a makeweight for the deal to go through, but Chelsea head coach Tuchel is not ruling the French defender out of his team for the 2021/22 campaign.
Speaking to the reporters concerning Zouma, who played a role in helping Chelsea secure a Champions League trophy last season, Tuchel said: “Kurt comes from a very different situation.
“Kurt was part of the team for half a year, I know him exactly, what I can demand from him, what he can give to the team. He was part of a very successful half a season.
“He was a very lively part of it, maybe not in minutes but I want to remember he was a crucial member of the team that won 2-0 against Atletico, for example.
“So when he was needed, and he had some tough decisions against him, but when he delivered. So the situation isn’t comparable to Ruben [Loftus-Cheek].
“Ruben needs to show now everything in some weeks if that’s possible. For Kurt, it’s different as I know what he can deliver.”
Zouma, who joined Chelsea in 2014 from French side Saint Etienne, is currently tied to a contract at Stamford Bridge and is set to expire in 2023. Although he couldn’t feature in the latter stages of the Champions League, the defender was still able to register 36 appearances in all competition for the Blues.
Zouma spent 45 minutes on the pitch in Chelsea 2-1 pre-season victory against Arsenal on Sunday, and Thomas Tuchel tried to offer game time to as many players as possible.
The future of the French defender is still uncertain and it remains unknown if he will still be at Stamford Bridge for the 2021/22 Premier League season opener against Crystal Palace on August 14. But there’s a chance he might be involved in the Chelsea UEFA Super Cup game against Villarreal three days before the League opener, where casino francais will be placing many odds on the game.
Kurt Zouma was also selected by Didier Deschamps for the Euro 2020, but the defender became an unused subbed all through the European competition.
