Armando Broja could be on his way out of Chelsea before the January transfer window shuts. That’s according to Dharmesh Sheth and Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports who claim Chelsea have transfer-listed the 22-year-old.
Broja has been short of form, fitness and playing time this season, so Mauricio Pochettino is looking to cash in. Chelsea have an eye on Financial Fair Play, and the Albanian international could generate £50m in transfer funds if sold.
Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are named as potential suitors, but it remains to be seen if they can afford him.
Broja hasn’t lived up to his potential

Broja joined Chelsea from Tottenham in 2009 but didn’t graduate to the first-team until 2022. As a teenager, he impressed on loan at Vitesse in 2021/22, scoring 11 goals in 24 starts. He then joined Southampton to get some Premier League experience and netted nine times in 24 starts.
In his first season as a Chelsea senior, Broja scored one goal in two Premier League starts and showed promise. But after Chelsea spent heavily in the summer transfer market, the 22-year-old had added competition for playing time.
Nicolas Jackson joined from Villarreal for £30m while Christopher Nkunku was signed from RB Leipzig for £52m. Both players were made priority over Broja, reflecting in his lack of playing time this campaign. The Albanian hasn’t been at his best on the pitch either, but he’s been unfortunate with injuries.
Stop-start second season due to fitness problems

Broja has made 36 appearances for Chelsea, spending more time on the treatment table in the last two years. The 22-year-old missed 26 Premier League games in 2022/23 after suffering a cruciate ligament tear. Broja has already missed eight league outings this campaign due to injury too, so he can’t be relied upon.
The Albian international is struggling for consistency when he does play. Broja has scored only one goal in 13 league appearances this season, firing blanks since October 2023. It’s little wonder why Chelsea want another centre-forward, so could Broja be sold to fund a move?
The report says Chelsea want a sale before the window closes, but that leaves them little time finding a replacement.
