Armando Broja will return to Chelsea this summer after his loan spell at Fulham, but he has an uncertain future. The 22-year-old was placed on the transfer list in January as Mauricio Pochettino deemed him expendable. No clubs came in with satisfactory bids, so he was loaned out instead.
Bobby Vincent of Football.London says Chelsea don’t plan on retaining Broja in 2024/25, so a move is on the cards. The Albanian international hasn’t had the best time at Fulham, so he’s hardly put himself in the shop window. Vincent says there is some interest in Broja from West Ham United, however.
Why could Broja leave Chelsea?

Broja has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring three goals with one assist. The 22-year-old scored just one league goal for Chelsea in 2022/23 and one in 2023/24.
He fell behind Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku in the pecking order, so playing time dried up. Broja started only 11 of his 38 games for Chelsea. Things haven’t improved while out on loan, however, with just six appearances and zero goals in three months.
If Broja is struggling for playing time and form on loan, why would his parent club want him back?
Where will Broja go?
Fabrizio Romano told Give Me Sport in January that Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham were interested in Broja. Wolverhampton Wanderers were also keen, but Chelsea requesting £50m was stopping clubs making a move. The Blues might let Broja leave for £35m now, according to TEAMtalk, given his poor form on loan.
The Blues are worried about the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, so they’re cashing in on any valuable assets. Broja has four years remaining on his deal, so Chelsea can still get maximum value from his sale.
The 22-year-old rose through the youth ranks in 2009 to the first-team in 2022, so Chelsea would make pure profit. The Blues would also save more than £2m-a-year in wages too.
