Chelsea travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon and may fancy their chances of winning. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are coming off the back of fine form and have a considerably better away record this season.
Newcastle believe they can beat anyone with home advantage, however, so they shouldn’t be underestimated. Eddie Howe’s men recently beat Arsenal in the North-East and have a winning streak to maintain.
Newcastle are worthy adversaries

Chelsea should be full of confidence after beating Tottenham 4-1 and drawing 4-4 with Man City, but Newcastle aren’t slouches. The Magpies are seventh in the league with 20 points from 12 games, winning two of their last four.
Howe’s men did suffer defeat in their last game, away to Bournemouth, but their home form has remained consistent. Newcastle boast five wins from six in their own backyard and have won their last four without conceding.
Newcastle have the second-best home defensive record (3) and face a side boasting eight goals in their last 145 minutes. Something has got to give.
The Magpies took four points off Chelsea in the league last season, so revenge will be on their mind. But Newcastle has been a tricky place for the Blues, with them losing six of their last 10 away meetings.
Chelsea among the Premier League’s best travellers

Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League with 16 points from 12 games. The Blues have won only one of their last four outings, but they’ve also only lost once. Out of Brentford, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City, the only side to beat Chelsea were Brentford.
Pochettino’s men picked up five points to three of the top-four teams, and they drew with Liverpool in August. Chelsea have struggled with lower-league opposition on home soil but thrive against better clubs on their travels.
Chelsea have the third-best away record in the league this season – 10 points from five games. They’re coming off the back of three consecutive wins on the road while boasting eight goals in their last two.
