Chelsea enjoyed a 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday and Cole Palmer was one of many players who impressed. The 21-year-old had a hand in both goals, taking his personal tally to 13 goals and assists this season.
The Blues were coming off the back of consecutive Premier League defeats before Sheffield United, but they’ve arrested the slide. Chelsea have moved back up to 10th with the win at Stamford Bridge, but they had to be patient.
Chelsea quiet before half-time

Conor Gallagher nearly opened the scoring after turning over possession and striking from distance, but Wes Foderingham held the shot. Nicolas Jackson cut inside and curled an effort that just missed the target too, but it wasn’t all one-way traffic.
United posed a threat through Cameron Archer who had the second-most shots of any player on the pitch. One of his efforts was from 30 yards out after working an opening but went just wide of the post. The Blades didn’t pose much of a threat in attack, however, instead relinquishing possession to keep Chelsea quiet.
United couldn’t hold in the second half

Chelsea were much stronger after the restart and scored twice around the hour mark, giving United a mountain to climb. Palmer collected the ball 30 yards from goal and picked out Raheem Sterling on the edge of the box. Sterling took the ball on his right foot and whipped in a low cross that Palmer converted.
Minutes later, Chelsea doubled their advantage with Palmer going from goal scorer to creator. After his ball into the box was cleared, Palmer whipped a ball across the goalline and Jackson tapped in from close range. United had one notable chance from a Gustavo Hamer freekick, but Djordje Petrovic tipped it wide.
Chelsea ended their two-game losing run and moved into the top-half after beating the Blades. The Blues will host Newcastle United in the League Cup on Tuesday evening.
