Chelsea is set to intensify their efforts to sign Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo and Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson in the coming week. Jackson, a 21-year-old promising striker, has already agreed to personal terms with Chelsea. The club is considering whether to trigger his £30m release clause after positive discussions with the player’s representatives. Chelsea may negotiate a lower fee with Villarreal but is yet to decide if Jackson will be an immediate first-choice player or require time to settle in England.
Chelsea is also targeting ambitious options like Victor Osimhen from Napoli, Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, and Lautaro Martínez from Internazionale. Although Romelu Lukaku prefers a loan return to Inter, Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale for the £97.5m-rated striker.
In addition to strengthening their attack, Chelsea aims to reinforce their midfield due to N’Golo Kanté’s expected departure to Al-Ittihad. The potential transfers of Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City and Mason Mount to Manchester United increase the midfield concerns. AC Milan is interested in acquiring Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Chelsea is expected to bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, who has a £34m release clause. They are also the frontrunners to sign Caicedo, as Arsenal has withdrawn their interest. However, negotiations with Brighton may be challenging as they demand £100m for the 21-year-old.
After breaking the British transfer record with Enzo Fernández’s £106.8m signing, Chelsea is determined to secure Caicedo at a more favorable price. They are willing to include players in the deal but are firm in not allowing Levi Colwill to join Brighton. Brighton’s previous attempt to buy Colwill permanently failed, but Chelsea might consider including Conor Gallagher in negotiations for Caicedo.
Southampton’s Roméo Lavia has attracted Pochettino’s attention, but Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also interested in the 19-year-old midfielder. Chelsea has been linked to Nicolò Barella from Inter, Sandro Tonali from Milan, and Manu Koné from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
As Chelsea intensifies its pursuit of top talents in the transfer market, fans eagerly anticipate the developments that will shape the squad for the upcoming season.
