Fernando Torres has hinted heavily that Cesc Fabregas will be a Chelsea player once the transfer window opens. The former Arsenal star is widely tipped to leave Barcelona in this transfer window.
Chelsea seem to have won the race for the Spaniard. Torres has welcomed – despite the lack of any official announcement – Fabregas by saying that he will definitely improve Chelsea and that we don’t have a player of his style. Torres said:
“Big players are always good signings. We know Cesc, he knows the division and was always among the top players when he was at Arsenal.
“He likes to play good football and will offer ball control, cutting edge, goals… If he’s made to feel important, like a leader – like when he was at Arsenal – he can drive the team on and he’s a type of player Chelsea don’t have right now.”
Torres’ opinion on Fabregas comes just after Barcelona defender Gerard Pique inadvertently revealed that the 27-year-old will be leaving Barcelona. Pique said: “He [Fabregas] already told me it’s done. He is leaving for 33million euros.”
Torres also had a thing to say about his new competitor, Diego Costa, who has reportedly passed his medical ahead of a £32 million move. Costa is widely expected to be the first choice for Chelsea in the upcoming campaign. “He has different attributes to our other attacking players, so he gives the coach a different option,” Torres said.
He also stated that Costa is “a strong player who is good with his back to goal, someone who can mix it with defenders and offer another outlet when you’re having a hard time in possession.”
Would Torres be there next season at CFC?
I don’t understand what’s the point of Chelsea signing Cesc while they already let go their star man Mata? who happened to play at the same position where Cesc does.
Cesc can play anywhere in midfield, I expect him to play alongside Matic if he comes!
You have no problem about that because Morinho understands why.
Cest Fabregas was a realy gud player looking from his performans at barca but unfortunately, we don’t know hw he can do at chealsea with his injury.
