Chelsea returned to European football action on Tuesday night against FC Porto for a place in the semi-finals.

A week ago, the West London club picked up a 2-0 victory over the Portuguese club in the first of two UEFA Champions League last-eight tie.
Despite both matches being played in the Spanish City of Sevilla, last Wednesday’s match represented an away leg for Chelsea, meaning they boasted a hefty advantage after scoring two ‘away’ goals, with odds from best American online casinos ahead of the game.
Nevertheless, Chelsea’s German tactician Thomas Tuchel opted to play a strong team on Tuesday night, which included the famous front-three that dealt with Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the weekend.
In truth, Tuesday night’s game proved the complete opposite of what we saw at Selhurst Park on
Saturday afternoon against Crystal Palace.
England international midfielder Mason Mount had the first half-chance of the tie, seven minutes in when the effort of the English man from the edge of the penalty box was deflected out for a corner kick.
After that, Jesus Corona has almost gifted a clear shot on goal after a poor Edouard Mendy clearance, but Italian midfielder Jorginho did just enough to block the chance.
Both teams, though, struggled to break down the defense of the other.
The West London club did create a few chances from counterattacks but looked fairly glad to keep things tight at the back and limit Porto’s chances, which made sense considering Chelsea’s possession of a two-goal advantage.
When the opening 45minutes drew to a close, the scores stayed goalless, with the Blues just forty-five minutes away from their first UEFA Champions League last four since 2014.
The second half saw Chelsea continue to enjoy tremendous success on the break, as a last-minute tackle from Chancel Mbemba denied Englishman Mason Mount in the 57th minute.
Eventually, the first shot on target from either club arrived on the hour mark, when Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy saved pretty well from Porto substitute Mehdi Taremi.
Portuguese club, FC Porto, did manage to score with 93 minutes on the clock, but the goal wasn’t enough to rescue the match, with the Blues now set to face one of La Liga giants Real Madrid or Premier League club Liverpool in the competition’s last four.
And though the encounter itself proved fairly dull, a player did stand out for the Blues in Seville on the night.
That player was American footballer Christian Pulisic, who eventually appears to be regaining good form amid a poor campaign to date. Pulisic’s skill, pace, and power proved a major nightmare for Porto’s backline, which led to the American being fouled on several occasions over the course of the match.
Pulisic’s performance even saw some of the Blues fans compare the former Dortmund star with one of their club’s best-ever forwards, Eden Hazard.
Meanwhile, Mason Mount had a message after helping the Blues seal their first UEFA Champions League last four places since 2014.
Chelsea progressed to the semi-final stage of the tournament thanks to a 2-1 aggregate victory over Porto, suffering a 1-0 loss in the second leg on Tuesday, a game that proved to be a little deceptively comfortable, despite the scores, which was predicted by meilleurs jeux de casino at the time.
The Blues now await Wednesday ties to discover which side they will play between Merseyside club Liverpool and La Liga club Real Madrid, with Real 3-1 to the good heading into the return leg.
And the message from Mason Mount is simple. “We’ll take anyone. We’re ready for the fight, we’re ready for the battle. We get to sit down and watch it, really analyze it, and then the best team will go through, so we’re up for anyone.”
