Chelsea travel to Anfield to face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday, October 20. The Blues could go joint second in the table with a win while Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top.
Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions for just shy of two months while Liverpool have lost just one game all season, so it could be a close affair. Chelsea faced Manchester City on the opening day of the campaign, so this is their second biggest test.
Liverpool are formidable on home soil and barely concede, but Chelsea boast consecutive wins on the road. The hosts are slim favourites to pick up all three points as they haven’t lost to Chelsea in their last nine meetings.
Liverpool blowing teams away at home

Liverpool have four wins from five home games in all competitions this season. They’ve scored two or more goals in four of those games, conceding only twice, so they’re blowing teams away at Anfield.
Chelsea are the biggest test Liverpool have had at home, but they have an impressive head-to-head record which will hold them in good stead. Liverpool have won four and drawn five of their last nine meetings with Chelsea. The Reds have only lost twice to the Blues since 2018, so time will tell if history repeats itself.
Chelsea are underdogs but no slouches

Chelsea are 6th in the table with 14 points from seven games. They’ve lost only one league game this season and have the joint-third best defensive record, so things are going well under Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea have their last two away games in the league, beating Bournemouth and West Ham without conceding, so they’re in a good shape. Their last win over Liverpool was three years ago, however, and they’ve only managed two league victories over the Reds in 11 years.
Liverpool have been beaten in the league this season, so they’re not invincible. Whether Chelsea can rise to the challenge remains to be seen.
