Chelsea travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are underdogs as they’ve struggled on the road while being inconsistent throughout the season.
City are unbeaten since the turn of the year while Chelsea have failed to win half of their games in 2024. The two sides played out a draw in November’s meeting, but City are nearly impossible to stop at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola’s men look invincible in 2024

City are currently second in the Premier League with 52 points from 23 games, two points off 1st-placed Liverpool. The Sky Blues haven’t lost a game in any competition since December and boast six consecutive league wins.
City have been flawless in their own backyard, with no side beating them at the Etihad this season. Pep Guardiola’s side have won 15 and drawn four of their 19 home games, so Chelsea face a tough task.
City have dominated this fixture in recent seasons too, winning six-in-a-row before November’s 4-4 draw, so they’re big favourites.
Chelsea inconsistent on the road

Not only are City nearly flawless at home, Chelsea have really struggled on the road since November. Pochettino’s side have lost six of their last nine away games in all competitions, but they’ve improved recently.
Chelsea have won at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in February, so they’ll be in better shape than weeks previous. It’s been three years since Chelsea beat City, and they’ve managed only one league win at the Etihad since 2016.
Chelsea are unpredictable week to week, largely due to their injury crisis, so they can’t be immediately ruled out. Winning at Villa in the FA Cup was a big result, and they’ve followed it up at Palace. And in addition to City, Chelsea have taken points off Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, so they can step up.
