Chelsea travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday night. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are coming off the back of a win over Brighton while United lost at Newcastle.
Chelsea haven’t beaten United in the league since 2017 and haven’t won at Old Trafford since 2013, so can they end their hoodoo? The Blues were thrashed 4-1 in their last trip to Manchester, so Pochettino won’t want a repeat.
Chelsea much better on their travels

Chelsea are 10th with 19 points from 14 games, winning two and drawing one of their last six outings. They could move up to 8th with a win, just two points adrift of United.
The Blues have three wins from their last four away games, beating Fulham, Burnley and Tottenham, but they recently lost at Newcastle. Chelsea only have one win from their previous three overall, so they’re inconsistent.
Chelsea’s last win over United came in 2020 with a 3-1 FA Cup semi-final victory on July 19. Their last league win came in 2017 with a 1-0 win on March 13. And their last Old Trafford win came in 2013 with a 1-0 win on May 5.
Man Utd inconsistent at home

United are 7th with 24 points from 14 games, winning three of their previous four. The Red Devils could go level with 5th-placed Tottenham if they come out on top, but they’re inconsistent at home. Erik ten Hag’s side have lost three of their last five in the league at Old Trafford, so they’re more than beatable.

United haven’t beaten a top-half side on home soil this season, but Chelsea have beaten a top-half side on the road. Could this be a long-awaited win in Manchester for the West Londoners?
