Cesc Fabregas has confirmed that he has signed for Chelsea on a five-year deal. His signing is a real coup for the Blues, and they have beaten the competition of many Premier League rivals for his signature.
Fabregas stated: “I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice. They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies”. Blues fans should rejoice in this news!
For the last few seasons Chelsea have lacked a certain type of player, and that type of player is one in the mould of Cesc Fabregas, a player who has the creativity and astuteness to open up defences. What the Spaniard lacks in speed and acceleration he makes up for with intelligence. Fabregas’ invention, ingenuity and passing ability are world-class.
His incisive, defence-splitting passing is exceptional. He is a player who can spot a pass with ease, and the passes which he plays are often weighted superbly, played to absolute perfection. There were many times last season when the Chelsea forwards were holding their runs and waiting for a pass, which often did not arrive. If Fabregas had been in the team he would have read the situation in front of him immediately.
Whilst on the ball he is in control, composed and commanding. Fabregas also has the rare ability to delay what might seem like an obvious pass in the anticipation of a better moment to release the ball. He often marauds around the pitch, dragging the opposition out of position, which in turn frees space for team mates and runners off the ball. Furthermore, his ability to find space on the pitch is impressive and this makes him a nightmare for the opposition to mark.
If he is deployed at Chelsea as he was at Arsenal – as a central midfielder with a free role – Fabgregas may well return to being one of the best midfielders in world football. Fabregas is a fantastic signing for Chelsea.
His experience in the Premier League and London should make any adaptation to the league and English culture swift and easy. Hazard, Oscar, Fabregas and Diego Costa on the same team? The coming season could well be a very interesting one for Chelsea!
I am very much proud to be a chelsea fans. I have no regret since i started supporting chelsea from my early childhood because my wish was to win trophish and we always win so am happy. Frank Lampard was my favourite player and he has depart but am happy now that we have got the replacement Cecs fabregas. Meanwhile Diego costa would be another great addition to chelsea squad and i will also urge jose to be serious about Fillipe Luiz deal so as to get more option in the left back since A. Cole is now getting old. Ones again am happy to be a chelsea fans
