Petr Cech and John Terry surprised quite a few by turning up for training ahead of the Champions League semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid.
Both Cech and Terry suffered major injuries during this match and Jose Mourinho said that there were out for the season. Yet, Cech and Terry trained today, while they were also joined by Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o.
Cech’s absence is understandable given that he underwent a surgery only last week, but it was not a major one. It looks like he will not play against Atletico despite training.
This is the second leg match between the two clubs after the first finished a 0-0 draw.
This has sparked speculation that Cech could return in goal for the match. However, a Guardian journalist, who has been witnessing training, says that it is unlikely.
Cech’s quite the surprise given last week’s shoulder dislocation. Currently warming up with #CFC squad.

Presumably he’s only out there to maintain fitness. He’s not swinging his right arm comfortably #CFC

When asked if he was fit, Petr Cech said: “Of course”.
The case of Terry, Hazard, and Eto’o is entirely different. A combination of suspensions and injuries have stretched this Chelsea squad. Hence, these players may take part in order to tide over the crisis. The journalist did confirm that these players were moving freely.
More significantly for #CFC, Terry, Eto’o and Hazard all involved and apparently moving freely…

Hazard and Eto’o may not be involved from the start, but they can come on and make a huge impact.
