Paris St Germain have been linked with a summer move for Eden Hazard in the last few months. Despite being a Belgian, Hazard is seen as the face of French football after having spent most of his career with French outfit Lille. Now flush with the cash from the Qatari owners, PSG do not seem to have finished with their spending. They have targeted the 23-year-old, while defender Thiago Silva has added fuel to those rumours with his latest statements.
The Brazilian moved to PSG from AC Milan for around £35 million. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“It is normal that a president discusses transfers with the players. When there is a new name in the press, the president discusses it with us.
“Sometimes I speak directly with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic). It’s normal to ask ourselves if a player can make us stronger.
“I would welcome Hazard with open arms, like we did all recruits.
“We need players like him to achieve our project and win everything. He is so strong tactically and technically. All the great players are welcome in Paris.”
It was quite evident from his first Chelsea match that Hazard was going to be a great player. He is now starting to fulfil his potential with 14 goals in 33 matches this campaign.
Jose Mourinho hinted a while ago that Hazard was probably worth around £100 million given the progress he has made to his game. He said:
“I’m not worried about Eden. If he was worth around £32m when Chelsea bought him – and he’s two or three times better than that now – then his market value is crazy.”
The Portuguese believes that Hazard has gone from being considered as a potential to one of the best in the game.
PSG will certainly not think twice about paying this fee (somehow, they appear confident of overcoming the FFP limitations). The 75% tax rate in France will also not worry them, as they are reportedly spending in excess of £50 million PER YEAR on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Of course, Chelsea do not need to sell him under any circumstance, but if a player wants to go, there is little else we can do.
The threat from PSG is real. It may not happen this summer, but a potential world record offer is not far away if Hazard continues to impress.
Why did people price something that can not be sell.not 4 sell!!!
