Despite Conor Gallagher being a regular for Chelsea in the last two seasons, his future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain. The 24-year-old is out of contract in 2025 and isn’t any close to putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Matt Law of the Telegraph says Gallagher’s delay in extending his stay opens the door to a departure. Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the midfielder in the past and are reportedly still keen on his signature.
Gallagher is too valuable to lose

Gallagher has made 79 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring six goals with seven assists. The England international missed only three Premier League games last season and has played in 24/25 outings this campaign.
Gallagher is an important player for Chelsea at the heart of their midfield, so they can’t afford to lose him. The 24-year-old is second in the squad for assists (4) and third for chances created (1.3 per game).
Only Raheem Sterling has been fouled more times (1.6 per game) than Gallagher (1.5 per game) too. The Englishman is second for tackles per game (2.5) and first for interceptions (1.3), so he’s indispensable to Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea surely wouldn’t lose such an important player.
Would Chelsea sell a key player to Tottenham?

Since the millennium, Chelsea have only granted two players a move to Tottenham – Gus Poyet, Carlo Cuducini. It’s been 15 years since a Chelsea player made the switch to the Lilywhites, so would they ship Gallagher?
Tottenham are keen on Gallagher and would be a stronger side with him, so Chelsea won’t want to strengthen them. The Englishman hasn’t yet shown a desire to leave Stamford Bridge, so time will tell if he requests a move.
Spurs could reportedly make a move for Gallagher at the end of the season, so Chelsea are under pressure. The Blues will want to extend his stay or cash in while he still has value. They won’t want to lose him on a free transfer next year.
