Chelsea have a bloated squad and are wary of Financial Fair Play, so there could be a summer exodus. Todd Boehly drastically overspent in his first two years at Stamford Bridge, so he’s looking to course-correct.
Trevor Chalobah could be a casualty of Chelsea’s new policy, as he’s hardly featured this season due to injury. The 24-year-old came close to leaving, when Bayern Munich showed an interest, so his future is uncertain.
Why would Chelsea let Chalobah leave?

Chalobah has made only eight appearances in all competitions, spending most of this season on the treatment table. The former England youth international has been out with a hamstring injury, only returning in mid-February. Chalobah has been a regular since returning to full fitness, but reports suggest his days are numbered at Stamford Bridge.
Bobby Vincent of Football.London says Chelsea could sell Chalobah to make ‘pure profit’ from an academy graduate. He rose through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2021 but has stiff competition for a starting place. Mauricio Pochettino has Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva and Alfie Gilchrist, but he’s had injuries.
Chalobah’s place in the starting eleven might be at risk when everyone is fit, so Chelsea could look to cash in.
Where would he go?

Chalobah was linked with a loan move to Bayern in January, but the move fell through. Alfredo Pedulla said AC Milan and Napoli were also interested in Chalobah, but he stayed in West London. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reported interest from Fulham, which made sense geographically, but it didn’t come to fruition.
So it’s up in the air where Chalobah could go if sold. He’s had offers from Germany, Italy and England since January, so the world is his oyster. And having four years remaining on his contract means Chelsea can get maximum value. Chalobah was worth £25m in November 2023, so he’d land the Blues pure profit.
