Chelsea travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Chelsea could go level on points with second-placed Arsenal with a win while West Ham could go neck-and-neck with Chelsea.
The Blues are big favourites to come out on top in the London derby as they’ve been strong on the road so far this season. West Ham are coming off the back of poor form in recent weeks, so they’ll be underdogs despite home advantage.
Chelsea have been strong travellers
Chelsea are currently 8th in the table with seven points from four games. The Blues lost on the opening day to Manchester City but have dropped just two points since. Enzo Maresca’s men thrashed Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-2, drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace, and narrowly beat Bournemouth 1-0.
Chelsea have won their last two away games in the league with an aggregate of 7-2, so West Ham should be wary of their attacking threat. Chelsea thrashed the Hammers 5-0 the last time they met in May, so they’ll fancy their chances of a win.
West Ham looking disjointed
West Ham aren’t in good shape ahead of their meeting with the Blues. United 14th in the table with four points from four games, picking up just one point from their last two.
West Ham lost 3-1 at home to Manchester City and drew 1-1 away to Fulham, so they’re vulnerable. Aston Villa beat them at the start of the season too, so Chelsea should be licking their lips.
West Ham did beat Chelsea at the beginning of last season, but they’ve lost three of their last five meetings. No side above them in the table has scored fewer goals or conceded more, so they’re not having a great start to the new campaign.
