There is still a lot of uncertainty about Conor Gallagher and where his future lies.
Chelsea want to keep the 24-year-old, and Gallagher doesn’t want to leave, but there’s been no progress with his contract.
Gallagher has made his demands but Chelsea aren’t budging, and time is running out to get an extension agreed.
Gallagher must be confused by Chelsea’s resistance

Bobby Vincent of Football.London says there is a cloud hanging over Gallagher’s head as the season comes to a close. The England international is Chelsea captain and one of the first names on the teamsheet, but he may be sold.
Gallagher has made 41 appearances in all competitions this season, amassing 3237 minutes on the pitch. He’s skippered Chelsea in 53% of their Premier League games, missing just one game all campaign. Gallagher is an important player for Chelsea, but that’s not enough for his contract demands to be met.
Gallagher currently earns around £50k-per-week, which puts him 19th in the table of highest Chelsea earners. Carney Chukwuemeka and takes home double Gallagher’s pay while Malang Sarr earns £120k-per-week, so the 24-year-old wants fair compensation.
Gallagher is looking for £150k-per-week to stay at Chelsea, which puts him level with Moises Caicedo – a fellow first-team regular. The issue is that Chelsea don’t believe he’s worth a 300% payrise.
Both parties want a continuance but not to negotiate

Gallagher plays every minute of every game for Chelsea, and the Blues desperately want him to stay. But neither side is negotiating, so a summer exit could be on the cards. Chelsea are trying to cash in on valuable assets to stay in line with the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Gallagher could fetch a tidy sum given his impressive rise through the youth ranks to the first-team.
Tottenham Hotspur are among the interested clubs, and Chelsea may consider cashing in if a deal can’t be agreed. The Blues can’t afford to lose Gallagher for nothing next year, so they might sell while his value is high.
